A comment from one of my readers gave me this idea of putting camping sites here at Earn Free Lindens. However, if there’s a best site for earning free lindens (*coughs* which is Chino Yray dot com) there is also a best site for camping spots on the web.
That brings me to my very first review here at Chino Yray dot com, namely Second Life Camping.
What is Second Life Camping?
According to me, yes, since I didn’t see any profile or “about me/us” page on their website, Second Life Camping is a huge list of all the camping spots out there and is updated frequently to give you all the information you need and the spots where to find the best camping sites in SL.
In the picture above, shows the list of Second Life Camping arranged from the highest paying spot. The list also gives first hand information on how many spots are there, how much free lindens you can earn every hour and the conditions in those camping spots placed at the “Notes”.
So to prove if the spots are accurate, I had to test it myself. So I did and find out that these spots are crowded. This is one problem Second Life Camping should check out. As a suggestion from me as well, maybe a feature which shows average traffic of the spot will be helpful unless our campers are willing to wait for the higher pay camping spots.
Very interesting..I agree there are alot of pros and cons when it comes to camping. Personally I like the idea of item camping and getting an item for free after a certain amount of time.. only if you really like the item of course ^_^ Overall I guess it leaves most people very frustrated, feeling like camping takes up too much time for too little of a payout. Poor newbies : (

I think Ahkums is on to something there....all those campers just seem to kill the sim performance, and I don't think a bunch of idle people with nothing to say attracts much attention either. Its like teleporting into a room of zombies. ;)

On the other hand, as a newbie, I was attracted to all the little green dots on the big map, so campers do their job of attracting people. And if thats bringin business, then its what the owner wants!
Camping in Second Life is quite the hot debate. I've read some very passionate threads about it from both sides. The objectors hate camping because they say it puts a strain on the sim and serves no purpose for the resources it uses. Advocates appreciate camping as a way for newbies to earn some Lindens. Personally, I tried camping a few times but I was never happy with the results. Not enough Lindens for the effort (finding a place that's open and doesn't have a boot limit, joining the group, etc.). But I am fortunate that I have a Paypal account and can afford $10 (that's over $2500 Linden) for SL once in awhile.

And this site is still active and listing camping sites. Its too bad that in some cases you have to stand in line to even use them, but for those with the time to wait, or time to kill camping, this a great start.
