Other than Free Lindens 10/13/2007

  • Do you like this?

It’s a refresher to post things about other Second Life stuff in here. So now, other than making money, earning linden dollars and getting free lindens, let’s see what’s new in Second Life.

US Presidential Campaign goes virtual

You guessed is right. Hillary Clinton has her own region, Kucinich has one too, Barack Obama definitely has one as well and Edwards wants to join the Second Life Bandwagon as well. These politicians seems to have find a good use for Second Life. Well, who wouldn’t? A region costs at least 1300$ US Dollars and if you are running for Presidency, that’s actually cheap to reach millions of Second Life Residents.

Enter the Matrix

If you are a big fan of the movie trilogy, The Matrix, then you’ll love this.

According to VintFalken.com,

The machine exists off a headpiece with electrodes which measures brain activity on three points of your brain: the motor cortex, the cerebellum and the basal ganglia. This data is read by an EEC machine, processed by the BCI system and then translated to avatar movement. Think ‘feet’ to walk, and ‘left arm’ or ‘right arm’ to turn to your – respectively – left or right.

NOW THAT IS AWESOME! Second Life going one step further. I can’t wait to see that technology going mainstream. I’ll definitely get one of those.

100,000L$ linden Cars

Now cars in Second Life are cheap. However, Pontiac won’t do the same thing. They’ll be selling the virtual 1954 Bonneville concept car for 100,000L$!!! Why?

According to them…

is any car in Second Life worth $100,000 Lindens? I guess it’s all relative, I don’t have the kind of bank account that would allow me to spend 2.8 million on a real life car but somebody does. So, perhaps owning an amazing one of a kind build like the virtual Bonneville Concept may be just what it takes for someone with deep pockets to step forward. We’ll see.

I wish I did not cash out some of my , because if I didn’t I would not think twice of buying one for me.

Torley is back with a new Tip of The Week

Torley is back and as usual, he gave an update on the coming Windlight for SL. But that’s not the reason why I’m happy since Windlight will still take its sweet time in the Developer’s den. The reason why I am happy is, I got to learn something new again.

    US Presidential Campaign goes virtual

Well, I can’t really say anything about this because I’m a Filipino citizen (lol). But it sure would be a great idea if the presidential line-up in the Philippines would follow suit. It sure would be fun seeing SL presidentiable avatars, and talking to them, coz it sure is hard in RL. But I guess they’ll have securities inside SL too, huh?

    Enter the Matrix

Can you really think your avatar to move? Hmmm… Try it and then tell me (lol)

I don’t even know how to drive! Oh well, I guess it’s a guy thing.

It sure is fun watching Torley and very informative too! Although, I’d much prefer to Torley as a “her” :) .

Name sounds like a girl, at least to me :D . Well some people of different ethnic group think I’m a guy, coz of my name, so it’s probably a culture thing. :)

Hi and thanks for the mention! I have both male and female (and other-gendered) avatars. I used to be a female av more, now I’m usually a guy… all pronouns are correct for me. Makes it easy. :)

      Ohmigosh! It’s Torley!

Wow, you replied to my comment.

Wait, hold it right there, just have to make sure I’m breathing right (lol).

Well, I have not seen your male avatar yet, so that probably adds to my confusion. Torley does sound like a fem name to me. It probably is just like what I’ve said, a culture thing. People confuse me as a man because of my name, heck even if they’re looking straight at me! (lol) And there are other names out there who I can’t figure out if the owner is a fem or a male.

I’m glad being referred to as in the precise gender isn’t a big deal to you. Or else, I’m in a big trouble (lol).

Ei, thanks for the video tutorials! Keep them coming :) .

Torley won’t be there tomorrow. Moving house in RL, as said by a notice.
