Second Style’s issue #13 Ad

There are times that vanity is a good thing. This time, it’ll give me more people visiting my blog. Today, Second Style released their 13th issue and I bet Cynara will be happy because her avatar’s face is on the 3rd leaf. Well, my face is there too so I guess everyone will be happy. (Ok, I know I’m not making sense).

To make it short, I bought an ad space and here is how it looks.

Cynara Cortes & Chino Yalin at Second Style

I don’t really expect it to bring traffic from the magazine that you can download here since it’s real purpose is a gift for Netrosanct Studios, Shai Delacroix and Cynara. All I can say is, the 17,000L$ spent on that Ad spot is still worth it.

I second this, Cynara looks great in white, and you look awesome in black :D

I third that. I have until recently have the mistaken belief that avatars as beatuiful as her only exists in the hands of professional digital artists

There are so many great looking AVs that I have come across, and so many contest to be won. Recently Miss Costa Rica was chosen and was talked about in SL Inworld Magazine.

I haven’t seen magazines yet in Second Life, so I am adding this to my list. Almost $70 US for the ad space sounds tempting if I had something to market. More people should take advantage of something like this.

You must bear in mind that second life is still no mainstream stuff despite all the hype that the mass media is hyping on. Active Second life membership is still considered a niche stuff despite its continuning grow in membership. So marketing your products in second life may not have the effect you desire.

      • StormShadow Maertens

Guess it depends on any rules they have on what they allow to advertise, but assuming the nature of the ad is SL related, its just a really cheap way to get your info out there.

      • buaya Burger

I am more cornered about the traffic and the reach-out. You have to bear in mind that not many people play sl, as much as we like to believe. Among those people, there are some who are just shell accounts. Then, among those who are active, they may be only online ocassionally or only for,let say, an hour per session. Then, there are people who stay in a sim and never venture out. And among the rest who travel, not all will bother looking at ads anyway

So, the reach out is a lot of time smaller than traditional mass media. It fit my belief that if you pay peanuts, you get peanuts .

      • StormShadow Maertens

Well as a greeter, I meet many new people on a daily basis, and I know that my SIM is not anywhere near the popularity out there that many are.

      • StormShadow Maertens

When it comes down to it, I have read many people have put there life savings into SL to make a living off of it. Chino has the right idea with making the money from SL instead of dumping his own money into it.

Not a bad surpise to find out the mag was free online too….pretty cool, and it a big magazine too. PDF counts it at 63 pages, but they are 2 pages wide, so its similiar to a 120+ page typical magazine.
Its an eye opener and worth reading.

And on page #62, there is a note that if you join the group “Second Style Readers” you will get future issue updates. Looks like a worthy group to join!

I find myself oggling at the models in the magazine. If only the real world models are as beautiful……..

Yes, I am sick but let me be sick for a while, ok?

      • StormShadow Maertens

Nothing sick about it….they are way perfect…no flaws….its mesmerizing :)

So awesome!! Your avatar is so handsome! *-* I actually look through Second Style just to find the ads and visit them lol! It’s a really great way to find unique shops and great designers. “There are times that vanity is a good thing. This time, it’ll give me more people visiting my blog.” ha ha! so true! ^_^ but at least it’s the good kind of vanity where people are still helping others and caring.
