To the cemetery

It’s All-Saint’s day already here in my side of the world and I would like to apologize for the delay of prizes. I can’t login to Second Life right now. So like I’ve said in my previous post, I’ll send all the prizes November 2.

Don’t forget to visit your relatives as well.

Belated Happy Halloween!

All Saints Day,to my recollection, is an older Christian Holiday that sprang up alongside All Hallow’s Eve to “combat” the evils of the Pagan traditions that people continued to celebrate despite being converted. On All Hallow’s Eve, people are to respect all that died, while on All Saints Say, people are to reflect on the lives of the saints and such.

Hope you do not mind me summarizing it a bit, Ahkums. :P

This article did add something fresh to the overall blog. Even a small something is great to see, and I do hope Chino posts more little ‘humanistic’ tidbits in the future. Especially with Thanksgiving (in America), Christmas, and other celebrations rolling around.

Is All-Saint’s Day international, or only in certain countries?

It is more of a religious (particularly Christan) holiday, so it is cross-national, and potentially cross-cultural. It depends on what faith you follow; even different sects of Christianity interpret such events differently. I know that at least in America, it is not put on most calendars, while Halloween is. And you definitely do not get either day off. :P
