POGS: Philippine Online Gaming Summit by GAME Mag!

  • Do you like this?

"Chino Yalin, a Filipino Second Life resident earn thousands of Linden Dollars just by blogging about SL." – GAME! Magazine: December 2007-January 2008 issue.

Thanks to Game! Magazine for the mention on their featured section which is obviously featuring Second Life. You see, GAME! Magazine is the ONLY Online Gaming Magazine in our Country and this is why I’m so proud even it’s just simple mention on my in-world name. (I would’ve loved it if they gave the link to my blog though)

Aside from that, I actually want to post something about what happened earlier in the POGS. I arrived there at the TriNoma around 10:30am, got myself a VIP pass for the event so I don’t have to deal with the registration. We ate lunch at Tokyo Tokyo (japanese restaurant) with friends from RF Online. After that, I took some pictures. Thanks to Myla or GM Cydie actually since she’s the one who took the pictures and let me borrowed it for me to take some beautiful pics.

Taken from the 2nd floor after getting some coffee from Starbucks.

It's a mob out there!

This picture is before the COSPLAY event began.

POGS! by GAME! Magazine

Obviously my favorite cosplayers. Left is Bible Black and the girl in the right is an Assassin Cross.

Bible Black COSPLAYER!

The Assassin Cosplayer again and the girl in the right is Cosplaying a Dancer from the game, Ragnarok Online.

Me! With a Poporing doll (ragnarok online monster) which is given by GM Tristan. Thanks GM T!

The Poporing Doll GM Tristan gave to me.

So I apologize if I wasn’t able to blog earlier since I was there at the event. Tomorrow… MORE FREE LINDENS!

        What? LOL…

Perhaps, you mean that are aliens playing in Second Life, but they are players like us, nothing more.

I am not sure someone would be able to get away with such a costume in my area of the USA. While we are liberal, having an outfit from a popular mature Anime series would put you in some boiling water. At the same time, it would be difficult for anyone to make a real argument against someone wearing it freely. The paradoxes of entertainment. :P

That is the ironic of different cultures at work. There is some thing that one culture accepts but the other culture frowns on

    Congratulations Chino…
It’s always motivating for you to see your work in a Magazine.
I’m glad because your work is recognized there, on your country. You have been a great job here.
    Keep your good work…

Congratulations, Chino! that is truly amazing! I, myself, am also giddy when I see even a smidgen reference to Second Life in a publication. It’s like, “Oh my god, they’re talking about *us*!”

And I hope you had a wonderful time at the convention. The last one I went to was disappointing, but that may have been the situation. Perhaps my future will be brighter. :D

That’s great Chino about the mention in Game Magazine. How exciting! The convention looked pretty wild too. Thanks for the pics.

It’s enough, he has the right of his privacy. It’s very danger to put RL pictures on internet, a lot of danger people has access to see our true face.

Chino, it was enough to see your head.

    2. You seem to have had a wonderful time at the show. Great photos for those who could not attend.

Err, this is a blog by a native Filipino- from my perspective (and granted, I am American), we are blessed that Chino decides to post in English. As SL is a multi-cultural community, I see no reason for that aspect to extend to an area about SL.

Pardon the soap box; I do feel strongly about the subject.

i understand you Trebuchet, but if all people begin to talk in their native language, we won’t understand nothing that is written here.
I just said that for all of us understand everything written here.

Btw, my native language isn’t english, but i make all efforts to just write in english. I feel more confortable writing in my native language.

I think that it should not be an issue. Chino did not explictly stated that only english must be used.
