Dazzle – A new look at living in the Grid.

  • Do you like this?

Earlier, Torley Linden announced the new first look client for Second Life called "Dazzle". This may not have something to do with earning free linden dollars but this is as interesting as free lindens for me.

This new UI change for SL is something that pleases my eyes and it also goes well with Vista‘s Aero theme. This somehow gives me the feeling that Second Life is an internet browser in 3D.

Dazzle

I guess you have to try it yourself to really feel the difference.

Download Dazzle here.

    Looks interesting, but i wonder…

Is it based on windlight or on the regular client.
Because there is a HUGE difference between the regular client and the windlight. And i wouldnt change from windlight to the regular version.

so if the dazzle client is based on the regular version, i’m going to pass :)
if not, let me know ;)

      It’s a regular client. Non-Windlight.

I am awaiting the child of windlight and dazzle. I think this child will be the real smashing success for linden lab, not its parent

Very interesting..I’m playing on a Mac so unfortunately I don’t think it will work for me : ( I like the current presentation of SL though, so I can’t complain : )

You can use this client on Mac. It just look like Vista’s Aero theme.

I tried Dazzle and it looks nice but the rezzing of the world is slower then Windlight.
Yeah don`t ask me why it just does it faster.

It is just second life program with a new user interface, like a girl wearing a new set of clothes

Yes what is the comparison of WindLight to Dazzle? I currently updated to WindLight and find it incredibly slow to rez things. Frustrating when trying to play a game LOL!

With me its the other way around Windlight is faster with rezzing then Dazzle.
MayB it has something to do with your comp overall hardware a fat CPU and GPU will help and a fast connection.I am on a 4 Mb downspeed line.

Strange, for me windlight, changed everything from 5fps to 30fps+, everything is way faster and way more nice looking. But then again.Everyone’s pc/laptop is different :)

Yes Lawie I have heard that too that for most it is faster. I have a new (to me – reformatted) computer and other than SL I haven’t added anything other new programs on it. I generally reboot before starting SL to be rid of everything :) I just am still feeling it is slow compared to the previous log on client which was just the standard download when I joined.

It will be slower normally, unless you have newer computer parts in ur pc/laptop which dazzle is programmed to take advantage of

I rather they spend the money and effort to fix the bugs in the game and enhanced its capabilites.
