How to win Referral Contests?

If it’s not for Carey’s reply to this post, I wouldn’t have known that I did won another referral contest. This time it’s from MetaRL. They gave me 2,500 metapoints or 625L$ for being the 3rd place for their best referral contest.

The secret to winning referral contests

There really is no secret at all. It’s pretty obvious already how I was able to get 12 active referrals for MetaRL. It’s through blogging.

There are tons of free blogging services out there and I hope the list below will give you a good start.

Branding your blog

You don’t just name your blog something out of the blue for no reason at all. Why? If you want to get people to visit your blog, you should think of a good name or tag line that people search for. One better way to name your blog is to use your name. For common reasons, it gives identity and uniqueness however, if you brand your blog your name you should tag it with what you blog.

Example:

chinoyray.com is titled “Earn free lindens and Make Money Online through Second Life – Chino Yray Dot Com”

The title is obviously my name, this is because I want to be popular! lol. Now for the tagline or description “earn free lindens and make money in Second Life” this line gives idea to web directories or search engines that my blog is about earning free lindens and making money online through Second Life.

Give your blog a good brand and make sure it describes or give a perception of what your blog is all about.

Someday will never come

If you have to do something, do it now. It is life’s lesson and not just for Second Life or blogging. I won’t be able to earn money (both SL and RL) if I didn’t blog about it 10 months ago. 10 months later, I now have 2 PC (1 is from the money I got from blogging) and 3 months allowance for my school needs from January to March 2008. This is because I made an action.

No action = no progress.

No progress = nothing.

So where are the blogs? Anyone can do this. If you decided to make a blog “someday” then I have to tell you that “someday” will never come.

Making money and earning free lindens through blogging is just there. All you have to do is do something about it. Also make sure that in order to win this contests, you have to join them first.
